At Fontainebleau's Oasis Ice Rink this season, a standard skate starts at $30 plus taxes and fees. On weekday nights from 8 to 11 p.m. in early December, anyone with a Nevada ID can skate from $15. That split shows how the north Strip's holiday season is set up this year. One calendar is built around Race Week and holiday weekends. A second one, cheaper and often free, runs late at night, midweek, and for people with a local address.
From 2000 Fashion Show Drive, the second calendar is easy to reach. Here it is in date order, with the windows that only locals get.
Race Week Comes First
The season starts during the busiest week on the Strip. Wynn lists Race Week for November 19 through 21, and the official Las Vegas Grand Prix ticket page sells single-day passes for those dates. Wynn also lists XS, its nightclub, returning from renovation on November 5, ahead of race traffic.
Oasis Ice Rink opens the night before the race weekend. Fontainebleau lists the season as November 18 through January 4, with the rink built on the resort's third-floor pool deck. Fontainebleau calls it the largest real ice-skating rink experience on the Strip. Opening night runs 5 to 10 p.m., and November 19 through 24 run 5 to 11 p.m.
The locals' rate doesn't apply during Race Week. It doesn't apply over Thanksgiving weekend either, when the rink stretches to 2 p.m. through 2 a.m. from November 25 to 28. Anyone who goes out that first week pays the same as a visitor.
Two Prices on the Same Ice
The real season for residents starts November 30. Here is how Fontainebleau's rink page sets it up:
| Window | Rink hours | Standard skate | Nevada locals |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nov 30 to Dec 18, weekdays | 5 to 11 p.m. | From $30 plus taxes and fees | From $15, 8 to 11 p.m. |
| Nov 30 to Dec 18, weekends | 2 to 11 p.m. | From $30 plus taxes and fees | No locals session listed |
| Dec 19 to 30, Jan 1 to 2 | 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. | From $30 plus taxes and fees | From $15, 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. |
| New Year's Eve | Not listed | From $30 plus taxes and fees | Offer not valid |
During the locals' sessions, select beers, wines and cocktails are $5. A valid Nevada ID is required. Walking onto the rooftop costs nothing at any hour, so you can come for the fire pits, cabanas and holiday food without renting skates.
Parking costs less too. Fontainebleau offers free parking for locals and Fontainebleau Rewards members, and it validates valet for rink visitors. Fontainebleau says it's the only Strip hotel and casino that does. A separate locals page confirms free self-parking for Nevada residents.
The rink also shows holiday films every Tuesday, at 5 and 8 p.m.:
- November 24: How to Train Your Dragon
- December 1: Elf
- December 8: Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- December 15: Polar Express
- December 22: Christmas Story
- December 29: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The 8 p.m. showings on December 1, 8 and 15 start in the same hour the weekday locals' skate opens. On those three Tuesdays you can watch the film and then skate at the $15 rate.
Rodeo World Fills the Middle of the Calendar
Resorts World takes the next stretch. From December 3 to 12, Rodeo World 2026 runs through the resort with nightly NFR viewing parties, athlete appearances, western activations, dining specials and late-night events. A lot of it is free:
- Daily NFR viewing parties, December 3 to 12, 5 to 8:30 p.m. The Zouk viewing party is 21 and over.
- Complimentary live entertainment at Zouk's "Rodeo Vegas," December 3 to 12, 8:30 to 11 p.m.
- Athlete appearances, all at Wrangler Dawg House.
- Free self-parking for cars with Nevada plates, according to the Resorts World FAQ.
The rodeo schedule also includes Miss Loretta's, Resorts World's new country-meets-nightclub room. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, it was designed with Bishop Design and switches between country and house music. Resident dancers lead line dances, and the bar has 11 signature cocktails with names like Emotional Support Cowboy and High Noon, Low Expectations. The menu has charcuterie, deviled eggs topped with Kaluga caviar, and sweet and savory popcorn mixes. Resorts World says Miss Loretta herself is a jackalope, with a shrine set among cacti at the entrance.
The free 5 p.m. viewing parties end right as the ticketed concerts start. The Resorts World Theatre lineup during Rodeo World:
| Date | Artist | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Dec 3 | Dwight Yoakam | 8:30 p.m. |
| Dec 4 | Gary Allan | 8:30 p.m. |
| Dec 5 | Chris Young | 8:30 p.m. |
| Dec 6 and Dec 10 | Riley Green | 8:30 p.m. |
| Dec 9 | Lee Brice | 8:30 p.m. |
| Dec 12 | Sheryl Crow | 8:30 p.m. |
On a weeknight in Rodeo World, a full night out at Resorts World can cost nothing but drinks, as long as you skip the theater.
The Ticketed Nights at Wynn and Encore
Wynn's season is mostly ticketed. Wynn's upcoming-shows page lists Lionel Richie on November 13 and 14, Postmodern Jukebox on November 27, Nate Bargatze from December 9 to 12, and "Love Actually In Concert" at Encore Theater on December 17, with the film screened alongside a live orchestra.
Two of Wynn's master classes fall during Rodeo World. Dreamy Holiday Desserts at SW Steakhouse on Friday, December 4, combines a dessert tasting with a chef demonstration. Holiday Cocktail Entertaining at PISCES on Thursday, December 10, is led by master mixologist Mariena Mercer Boarini. The cocktail class is useful practice if you're hosting guests in your own unit later in the month.
Dinners and Countdown Packages With Fixed Prices
At the north end of the Strip, SAHARA has posted firm prices for both holiday dinners. Maroon by Kwame Onwuachi is serving a Thanksgiving prix fixe on Thursday, November 26, from 5 to 9:30 p.m., for $150 per person. Its December 31 prix fixe is $285 per guest.
SAHARA's New Year's Eve celebration runs from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. A four-hour open-bar package, 8 p.m. to midnight, is $130 per person and covers AZILO Lounge, Casbar Lounge and The Tangier. New Year's Eve is also the one night the Oasis locals' discount is off, so a fixed-price package at SAHARA is easier to budget than a full-price skate.
Daytime Errands Across the Street
Gift shopping is close by. In September, the Review-Journal reported six new tenants at Fashion Show: Alo, Sukoshi, Makers & Finders, R.D. Talley Books, Edikted and BoxLunch. R.D. Talley Books and Makers & Finders cover books and small gifts, Sukoshi carries Asian beauty products, and Alo sells athletic wear. All of it is within walking distance of the tower's front door.
For a drive off the Strip, Enchant returns to Las Vegas Ballpark from November 20 to December 27 with a light maze, ice skating, food and Santa. General admission starts at $27, and prices change by date and time.
One December Weeknight, Mapped
Here's a Tuesday, December 8, built from these schedules:
- Late afternoon: a gift stop at R.D. Talley Books at Fashion Show.
- 5 p.m.: the NFR viewing party at Resorts World, parked free with Nevada plates.
- 8 p.m.: the Grinch screening at Oasis Ice Rink, with free entry to the rooftop.
- 8 to 11 p.m.: the Nevada-locals skate from $15, with $5 drinks, and free locals parking at Fontainebleau.
That evening costs $15 plus taxes and fees, plus whatever you drink. A visitor skating on the Saturday of Race Week pays the standard rate, which starts at twice that.
Living in a north Strip tower means this calendar is close by all season. If you're thinking about what that access means for a unit at Trump or one of its neighbors, Karyn Carlton and the team at Carlton Holland Realty can walk you through the building, the views and the numbers.
